Vitaworms are the larvae of Black Soldier Flies (Hermetia illucens). They are also sometimes called Calci-worms or BSFL.

Live Food Vitaworms are a high calcium food that naturally has a balanced calcium and phosphorous ratio. They are high in protein, particularly lysine, a vital amino acid and have 20 times more calcium than crickets. 

There is natural variation in the age & colour of the vitaworms you will receive, ranging from creamy white to brownish black.

If it’s your first time ordering BSFL, perhaps order a smaller amount rather than a bulk. 

Storage:- Black Soldier Fly Larvae will keep in the fridge alive (in a not too cold fridge - wine fridge or make up fridges are preferable) for a week or so and can be frozen for longer storage. Allow to come to room temperature before feeding to your animals. 

Black Soldier Fly Larvae or Vitaworms are suitable for lizards including bearded dragons, blue tongue lizards & geckos. Frogs and other amphibians, spiders, scorpions, centipedes, millipedes, large fish like oscars, barramundi & cichlids, wild birds and chickens, ducks and other poultry all enjoy Vitaworms.
